I went into aquascaping and just love the new look I have in the tanks, however the hardscape is above the tank tops by up to 4" and some of the plants may well grow higher above water level.
Ove the last couple of weeks I've had 2 jumpers. An Oto and an Asian Rummynose.
Is there an aswer to this without me having to chop off the top of the wood bits above water height then just going with a flat top cover of sorts?
Another thought is that various bits and pieces need to enter the tank top such as pipework for the external canister filter.
Answers to this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thinking again, maye someone knows a firm who can make complete covers that go upwards then span the width and length. Much the same as the usual raised covers on some tanks such as one I have: BUT in clear glass or acrylic: The Juwel 60 -

I would need it to be clear for the lights to be placed above it.

Condensation covers

They are flat, ribbed plastic that is see through and extremely easy to trim for hoses etc but also can be cut to accommodate decor poking out the top

Very very inexpensive to buy in packs of 5...so mistakes in cutting/trimming will not break the bank

They fit tween rim or bracing and the lighting units....with a bit of creativity on your part they would work brilliantly

I use a D&D jump guard which is a metal frame to sit around the rim of the tank and a mesh net to stop jumpers.

Its a bit of DIY to get the shape right for your tank and sort the cut outs for any pipes or wires but I think it looks good, only thing I'd change on mine is go for the clear net rather than the black. I also wish they did it in white or plain metal too but the black is not too distracting.

I use tanks taller than what I need, and use reduced water levels if I have emergent plants. If the water in the tank is 12-15cm from the rim, there is less jumping. and if you go with air driven filtration and a room temperature biotiope, there are fewer lines going in.

Ah, the image I used is a stock photo but I do have that particular tank however that's not the one I need to cover somehow.

I'm waiting for a new Chihiros Vivid 2 light at present but in the meantime it is being lit by a RGB of around 10" longer than the tank.
You may be able to see pictures of some of the fish I keep above the tank, and you'll probably notice a good amount of biofilm in the tank itself that I'm trying to get rid of. You'll also notice another tank to the right of the one I point to that also needs a tank cover as the wood there extends by around 6 - 7" above the tank.
Anyway, the hardscape wood extends by 4 - 5" at the highest point.
