Hi all

Its been so long since my last update I wonder if anyone still remembers this journel  I have to say not really much has happened with the tank in the last few months, The lionfish however is now gone back to the shop, after months of effort and still no eating and I mean months I finally gave up, I really did not want to see it die in my tank, hopefully, although I doubt it, it will start to do better in the shop, they actually said it looked perfect when they took it off my hands, crazy how it has lasted so long and still looks like it could last even longer without eating a thing. On a positive note, I now get to select a whole new bunch of fish to put in :)

Hi guys, great to see your still here, I hope all is well with you both, I am still thinking about what direction I want to go with the tank although lots of little fish is the most likely, the lionfish was an amazing thing to have in the tank but it spent most of its time just lazing around, laying in one spot for hours on end so I have missed a more busier reef, I guess the biggest thing holding me back at this stage is finding available funds and the lighting needs to be changed very soon which is also going to be painful so the tank will progress far slower for a while. all my coral still seems to be doing well at the moment and I still have the yellow tang, dwarf angelfish and goby so I am happy for now.

One thing I did find out a while ago is that coldwater river shrimp can make exellent clean up crew. I was trying to get the lionfish to feed so I added to two big bags of the shrimp, proberly about sixty of them, I only paid about £3 or £4 for them and the guy at shop told me they would only last a couple of days or so, as they were cold saltwater river shrimp, the lionfish did not eat any of them or at least I did not see it eat any of them, instead the shrimp would eat the lance fish and prawns I was dangling on fishing line for the lion. That was almost two months ago and I still have half of them in my tank, cleaning the sand and rock of any uneaten food, I have no idea if it is common to have them last so long but I think they do a great job and look pretty cool aswell :good:
