Sam~ I've been told to keep sending the ct's in. That sometimes apprentice judges get to judge the novice classes....and that this particular judge said no to the ct's. Which doesn't mean the next one will...
Either way it's a good place to sell your fry.

CT's in novice...

I could very easily enter them into the regular classes,but then I won't be allowed to compete in Novice anymore, so I guess I don't want to do that. I'm still sending some in to Florida next month, we shall see how it goes.

That is very weird that "sometimes" they allow CT's in Novice but it depends on the judge...um, just then how are you to know whether they will be allowed THAT show? Sheesh! I also don't understand why you can show them in the regular show class but not Novice, are they saying Novices shouldn't breed CT's? haha Well maybe they are just trying to limit the Novice class to make the judging a bit quicker and easier, I'm sure it's a crazy time for them having to judge all those fish.

I'm hoping to send some of my reds into next months show, I can't wait

I just got my IBC membership packet in the mail today and I've spent the last two hours reading through it -- so much to absorb! Very cool though!! I'm really excited haha.

Awesome Mandi! I love the packet and I still use it daily for the standards and such. Since you got yours...I have to be corny and tell you to look on page 15 of this issue of Flare....there's a dt plakat on the bottom of the page and I think that's what the DT's from my latest spawn are going to look like as far as body goes I almost died when I saw the mis-shaped tail in the IBC mag....maybe mine won't be so bad after all I was so worried about their tails not being just right

Wow Kelly great show! Did I read right that this was your first show and you had some BOS winners? I guess a new force to in the world of bettas has emerged.

So do you have space in your fish room for a trophy display case or something? I hope to see pictures soon of your awards.

I got the results in the mail today. Some of the fish went for 18.00 It was the male orange plakats who brought in the double digits. Ok,let me explain that for those who've never been....at an IBC auction,fish start out at 5.00 and go up by the dollar, most people are out for fish that come from the commercial breeders,or from the regular classes. Even I went outside to smoke while they auctioned the novice fish in Houston . So in other words....the price that some of my fish brought in was quite flattering ) And the fact that I sold them all is exciting enough.

I also got my certificates Dare I be corny enough to hang them on my fishroom wall I think I dare!!!!
