Nitrite > Nitrate.. How Much Longer?

90% is far too much. Try 50% daily.

Don't forget that nitrite -> nitrate takes the longest to establish (1-2 months is not uncommon). There is a list somewhere of members who are willing to donate mature media, contact one of them in your area if you really need it.

Really? Because I have been told on here multiple times to change as much water as possible when you are still detecting Nitrite and Ammonia!

Ok I've switched to 50% WC's now after thinking that disturbing my sand and plants constantly with the big WC's can't be good. Still not reached 0 Nitrite yet annoyingly. Seems a long time.

Thanks mate, I'm in Essex so bit far! Just got some matured media from my LFS and bunged that in so we'll see over the next week what happens.

Ah glad you got sorted, you will defo see a difference with that in.nice one

Not everyone is as fortunate. Good luck.

Thanks,

Right. Picking up a Juwel Rio 125 tomorrow. I'll fish-less cycle it so should I transfer over some media when mine is fully cycled and dose ammonia or will it be good to go if readings are good for say a week?

Transfer some media. It will save you lots of time, hard to say how much time exactly.

Got it today and cleaned up. Got some Ammonia and gonna get it all setup tomorrow.

Hey dude. It's going alright ta! I had to buy some more Eheim bits to complete the setup but its cycling nicely now. Been dosing ammonia, had it drop in 4 days, and currently in the high nitrite stage. Reckon it'll drop soon and I'm sorted. I put some mature media in to help too. I'll get some pics up when I'm stocked!
