Nitrates in tap water

My ph from tap is 7.6, when I use the filter it drops out to 6, the lowest reading. My tank ph is same as my tap water. The strange thing is that a 50-50 mix makes it the same as the tap water ph, I’m not really sure why and it stays stable in my tank.

Yes it’s strange. I’ve read lots of conflicting things about pH. I’ve been testing my water, tap, tank, filtered etc for weeks now trying to work it out .

I think I’ll just stick to what I’ve been doing and mix unfiltered water with pozzani water, it seems to work fine. I don’t want to risk shocking my platy fish with a pH below 7. My tank water stays stable, so that’s the main thing.

Thanks everyone

Maybe see if you have one of these local to you?

This is interesting. There is one of these close to me.
Could I add some of this water to my tank while doing a water change to lower GH and nitrate (both high in tap water)?
