So im thinking of buying a nitrate filter as atm ive got high nitrates but also loads of cyano so wot ever i try and fight the other one takes advantage of the conditions.
I was looking at the aqua medic Aqua Medic Nitrateductor (closed) 1000
or the D&D Sulphur Denitrator

Now roughly im not too worried about prices as i just was a good nitrate filter that i can either put on my ehiem 2224 or put seperatly.

I will be asking my LFS see how much they are but no doubt online will be cheaper!

Hey N1z

So you already bought and hooked up the D&D Sulphur Denitrator???

How is it working for you and was it easy to set-up???
Did you gravity feed from the main aquarium or bypassed the sumps pump??

I was gonna get a Aquatic Midwest but if this one works good then i might get it.

hey, yer ive finally got it running. Well tbh its only been running for 2 days so still new to it. I did a reducer t piece off my ehiem canister. however wasnet enough pressure to push it back into the tank so ive had to tap it to increase the pressure. Now it works, yet still new and not much has happend so ill keep u updated on it. You can do it either way only thing is my one is sulphur beads and it lowers the ph down to 6.5 so ive got some calcium carbonate to boost it back up. ive herd that the other ones that need glucose are a nightmare to get working right so i stayed with this one.

But its easy to setup, basic ro piping and you can just t it off from your sump pump or summit then hay presto!
ill send some pics later tonight for ya on how ive done it. :good:

right here we go then.
this is it from my eheim return pipe.
