Nightmare

100% daily w/c dechlorinated and same temp. Feed every other day. I was able to cycle a tank this way (even with heavy feedings daily), heavily stocked with Discus. None died they were healthy all the way through. Adding prime (a little higher then recommended) will help to detoxify ammo/nitrites also. You have a good chance, I don't agree with the comment above that says most of your fish will probably die.

I wish you the best of luck, as the situation your in isnt really a good one!!!

if you can, try and get some of the sponge(this is the media) from your friend established tanks(obviously buy him a new sponge in return) and put that with your sponges. this should speed up the process a little, and bring your readings right down. Once your readings are good, i.e no ammonia at all, take out some of the media to what is supposed to be in the filter as normal, and again just check the readings to make sure this doesnt affect the levels, if it doesnt and the ammonia and nitrite remain at 0, you've done your job and can now sit back a little and enjoy it

best of luck

amonia .10,nitrite 2.0,nitrate 10,ph 8!!! just more neverending water changes?one more casualty,another mollie.poor guy.oh yeah.24 hrs since last 75 water change.

OHHHHHHHHH
but thats good that youre seeing nitrAtes. keep it up for about 2 weeks and you should be good. just keep testing and changing until ammonia and nitrites are 0.
cheers

thanks.im going to do a test, put my kid to bed and do another water change.after i finish watching the capitals beat the bruins of course.

You're doing a great job. Now that you have nitrates showing, you should be nearing the end *fingers crosses*

Hopefully the other fish will come out of this OK, and you'll be able to enjoy them in a couple of weeks knowing that you put in the hard work to get them to that point.

Good luck!
