What lights do you guy use to view your fish after your main tank lights go out?

I also use Blue LED strips, but they come in a range of colours and costs. I have put a link below for the ones purchased for my 100cm wide tank, these were a three set but you can buy singles and doubles. I am really pleased with them, they give give a soft bluish light which allows you see all the nightime activity, it also looks pretty coolls as well.

Moonlight LED's

i have 2 led lights (one blue one green) waiting for 2 more to arrive as there is still space in the usb hub. once these arrive I will be putting one in each corner of the tank pointing across towards the middle to see what it looks like.

I have a pic somewhere of the two, I will post it shortly but will have to use my phone to post it.

gives a strange spooky sort of effect at present

My lights go out at 10pm, i'm not bothered about viewing them past then as i'm normally thinking about going to bed, plus i don't like the idea of shining stupid colour lighting into the tank to confuse the crap outa them anyway. :D Nearly as bad as using florescent gravel.

florescent gravel ----- awesome will have to look for some of that :)

on a serious note I know not everyone likes the coloured LED lights in a tank but personally I like the effect it gives off, once ive got more plants in there etc the light will be deflected a fair bit

Admittedly they look funky for five minutes after you set them up, but like i said, for me, my normal lights are on during the hours while i'm at home to enjoy it anyway, so kinda pointless for me :)

How long are your lights on for. Mine come on at 9am when the room is light and go off 10 hrs later, which is still pushing a bit. I don't want to come home at night and look at my tank in the dark. Is your tank in a lightless room, allowing the lights to come on late and stay on until 10 pm? Whilst I partially agree with you because of some of the naff lighting you can get, a light into the tank that is no brighter than moonlight cannot be bad and allows to view what's going on (just) without switching the lights on and off and confusing the fish.
