Night-Time Hunting...

OK so I decided to take a few pics of my beloved firebellied toad, Splodge - already a bit of a celebrity in TFF .

I decided against taking the usual sort of pictures and decided to instead take pics of him out and about at night - his most active period. I decided to use a torch rather than the room's own lighting to create a sort of "Discovery Channel Filming" effect - that's why they're supposed to be dark and grainy.

Anyway, here's Splodge setting off to find bugs in the leaf litter. He isn't being attacked by green worms, that's the moss in his tank growing upwards .

Splodge investigates his pool, which is a sunken Tupperware box filled with water. He hopes to grab some bloodworm and mosquito larvae here.

Having taken in some bloodworm, Splodge climbs out of his pool, and takes a gaze out of his tank to see what's happening in the rest of the room...

Finally, in this semi-lit shot, we see one side of Splodge's face. At this point I think he was glaring at me cos he was sick of me taking pics of him hunting. He looks rather annoyed, so I decided to let him be. Happy hunting for the rest of the night, lad!

I have often wondered what it would be like to own a firebelled toad, I think that would definately send my hubby over the edge though!
