I finally won an ebay auction =). Not sure if I was ripped (25shipped)but my LFS doesnt carry these so might as well try e-bay.

Heres how they look:

My question where do I place them?

You have more than enough lighting for star polyps. Put em wherever you want :good:

Thats good, im happy that im getting my first coral 8) . And if it turns out to be DOA then the seller is willing to send me another. I'm going to find a dead star polyp and take a picture of it so I can get two for free :p

Lol, star polyps grow very quickly under most conditions :)

...I got my shipment in today and im totally suprised. And not in a good way. The bag water was extremely cold. It appears the '60 hour' heat pack didn't work. And now What I see is some spongy rock and this purple stuff. Which doesn't look like a neon green star! I'm acclimating whatever the purple thing is to see if I can salvage ANYTHING that's left from it. Also the hole that was carrying the coral had a HOLE in it which made it drip slowly so there was barely any water in the bag.

The polyps will only come out under light, they will retreat into the purple stuff if under stress or theres no light. Give it a couple of days, if the polyps don't show under normal lighting, then it could be a DOA.

PS they glow under actinics 8)

Thank God. Hopefully when I get home they will come out (im at school). I quickly floated them before I left (yes yes i know I should have dripped them but there was no water for them in the first place). Anyways, I turned on the lights before I left so lets see if they come out when I get back. I'll update my journal too with some pics of it.

Well they scared me! I just came home to find that there is actually life on that purple thing. [Pics with be uploaded in my journal]

Tbh i found the heat packs were waste of time, my frogspwan was freezing but its fine and is huge for only 17quid, a 2-3" collony bargin.! As for the purple thats the base for the polyps and is how the collony grows. One settled a few should come out and then give it another 2 days they will be out full blow, then will grow, mine are huge not and going right underneath the rock, cant w8 for it be even bigger!

Here are some pictures...Is this all the polyps will extend or should I be looking forward to more things coming out from it?

If its a small frag then they are doing nice they are most likely fully extended. You might get a few more come out but they will be smaller.

Looking nice thgh :good:
