It's only July, Hall of Fame doesn't count in my house. Neither does pre-season. I refuse to learn players' names that aren't likely to make my Eagles starting team.

NFL Sunday Ticket tv is so expensive this year & doesn't carry enough of our games. We're thinking it's back to our sports bar. Bah! I prefer to watch at home, Better food & maybe pajamas for early games ;) We do miss our fellow fan friends, maybe they'll be there too.

Oh, I don't know... I sort of pay attention to preseason but not extensively.

<edit>
Forgot to add that I used to do NFL+ but quit a few years ago. Now I just stream the radio broadcast for the Browns and watch NFL Red Zone with no volume.

Only one preseason game in but I'm sad to say that the Ravens MAY have a couple of extreme kick returners. :(

I look forward to seeing how QB Shedeur Sanders does Friday as he will be the starter. So far he has had a good camp from the little I've followed. I followed the Colorado Buffaloes the last 2 years as Dion Sanders being the coach and his son being QB intrigued me. The kid IS a potential star. Last year he had a 74% completion rate and has his dad's speed. I'd like to see him start the regular season but it is almost assured the initial starter will be Flacco.

Even though Sanders is fast and a good runner I hope that does not become a regular situation. I like a QB that can run but I'm not big on running quarterbacks. Take Michael Vick as a running QB. Most don't realize that in his entire career he never played an entire season, always being out some games do to injuries while running.

Tomorrow, the Patriots are unveiling a 12 foot statue of Tom Brady placed in front of the stadium.
Sigh, Brady... You either loved or hated him. ;) Well, there are some, such as myself, that did neither but respected his career. I expect that in another few years, if not already there, the same will be the case with Mahomes.

A question that will be discussed for ages and, probably, never answered is if Bill Belichick made Tom Brady or did Tom Brady make Bill Belichick? Of course there is a third option... Mayhaps they just got together at the right time and they made each other.

Actually Jim Brown has a statue at Cleveland's stadium but they should also have one for Marion Motley as he was probably the more dominant runner. Actually Marion Motley DOES have a statue in progress but in Canton Ohio by the NFL Hall Of Fame, not in Cleveland stadium. He was a man playing with boys often the largest player on the field. Motley was the main runner before Jim Brown. If their years of playing were reversed the discussion of the best ever runner would likely include Motley instead of Brown. Check out the following video. Ya, you will need to view on YouTube.

I have to be honest, I am not super impressed with Shedeur. 5th round is wild. He does HAVE the potential, but let's see if he makes it happen.

Actually I figure that Flacco will start game 1 of the season, not either of the rookie quarterbacks. Personally I would rather they got rid of Flacco and kept DTR, Robertson. Ya, DTR had turnover issues but still has a bunch of talent. Flacco also isn't innocent when it comes to turnovers and DTR is MUCH more mobile.

I'm trying to think coach. With Sanders starting tonight and, if Cleveland wins the coin toss, I not deferring but, rather starting on offense. My thinking is that I want Sanders to start out with a clean score. If they defer, and the Panthers score, Sanders is starting out under pressure. I want as little pressure on the kid as possible.

Patriots off to a great preseason start with a 14-0 lead at 9 minutes into the game.
So is Cleveland and Sanders. At te half Cleveland is up 14-7 which is nothing special except that the Panthers are playing a lot of expected starters and Cleveland is playing zero starters. Sanders is performing REALLY well!

What can you say about Sanders against the Panthers? Played 3 quarters and left the game up 21-7. One may say that it is just preseason and starters aren't involved but that was not the case. Panthers played a lot of starters and Cleveland played none.

Sanders did not look like a first game rookie. Did he make some mistakes? Of course he did but, once again, he just wins. One would expect a first game rookie to play like the NFL game was too fast but that just was not the case. I think that he just played the game REALLY well.

Oh, Sanders was named 'player of the game'.
