I have never liked large water changes for the reasons above. I prefer 25% once a week. I feel it is way less stressful to the fish. Some members here recommend 90% water changes, it is just not for me.

How can I get the colour back in the stressed fish? They are still quite ghosty in the tank from last nights issue catching the Loach. I have salt, but do I have to do a water change in order to add it?I have never liked large water changes for the reasons above. I prefer 25% once a week. I feel it is way less stressful to the fish. Leave them alone now, just let them rest for a couple of days. How can I get the colour back in the stressed fish? They are still quite ghosty in the tank from last nights issue catching the Loach. I have salt, but do I have to do a water change in order to add it?

there's that charming sarcasm again ❤Both, this site is such a wealth of knowledge. I am surprised I have gotten this far in the hobby.
No...your tank is too small, rummynose needs lots of space because they're very quick and activejust done tests water is 0 on ammonia nitrite and nitrate and ph is 7 on both tanks I won’t bother with salt atm as fish seem to of regained some colour since I’ve fed them this morning in tank 1. Tank 2 seems a bit better today also. Females aren’t so close to the surface just seem to be more chillin then anything else this morning as they are swimming around more. For tank 1 with Yoyo going back today do I get more rummy noses because now there is only 3 of them which is quite a small shoal or do I still just leave them? They seem lost now they’ve lost one of their members
Even tho they are in the 60?? There is quite a bit of space in there since I’ve removed decorations??No...your tank is too small, rummynose needs lots of space because they're very quick and active
Welcome to the world of real fishkeeping.MY YOYO LOACH JUST KILLED ONE OF MY RUMMY NOSES!!!!! I SAW IT HAPPEN!!! WHAT THE HELL!?!?!
The advice has been given. Whether or not you follow it is entirely up to you.i don’t really want to return that many though?? As I’ve said before I don’t like to just give up and not try my best to sort it before I think about just going and chucking them back to the shop..
No...that tank was a disaster waiting to happen. How can I get the colour back in the fish? From the stress of last night they are so ghostly.. I wish I never touched tank 1 now.. it was fine just a little tiny bit out on the nitrite but they were all happy as Larry before I did the water change now this. Feels like I’ve caused myself more problems
This was to be expected, the fish settling down. You don't have the space for more Rummy Nose, which is why we were saying you need to return them.just done tests water is 0 on ammonia nitrite and nitrate and ph is 7 on both tanks I won’t bother with salt atm as fish seem to of regained some colour since I’ve fed them this morning in tank 1. No of course I totally understand what your saying. The main reason I bought the rummys to begin with was because my nan used to have a little 20 litre tank when I was younger. She had about 5 rummys 5 neons and a couple guppies in hers for years and they were always as I can remember completely content and happy she never had a single issue. It’s what made me get a tank. I loved hers and all the fish she had hence why they were the first fish I ever got. Of course the fishes well-being is at the for front of my concern I’m just torn between taking them back to pokey little pet shop tanks with loads of fish in one little space and keeping them in my tank which has a lot more space and obviously I love them more then the shop keepers do if you understand what I mean. Like I try my best to give them a better life then being cramped in the crappy overcrowded 10 litre tank at the store with no plants or substrate in the tanks. Course I don’t want them to die but surely they would be more likely to die sooner in those tanks for long periods of time in comparison to mine?Welcome to the world of real fishkeeping.

You can only 'sort' the current situation by setting up a much larger tank, properly, (which will take some weeks) and buying many more fish and plants.
No...that tank was a disaster waiting to happen.
That single loach would still have killed fish, probably after lights out, and you would've been asking us about yet another 'mystery death' in the morning.
The loss of colour should return if left to themselves, with cover.

Please understand that the fish welfare is at the heart of our concerns and, for myself, I would always put fish welfare above the personal feelings of the involved Human, though I'm trying really hard to be nice.
