there really nice looking forward to them once they have grew a bit

very nice, where are they going size tank?tankmates?
i had 3-4inch red devil/midas mix and he already started going for everything in my tank,,including the big 11+inch oscar, so beware

Like nelly said, I used to have a red devil. Sadly, I had to rehome him due to his serious aggression. That sucker could kill anything in the tank, he once bit my finger and drew blood.

Also, three in a tank is just asking for disaster, I would suggest one in a 75 gallon tank with no tank mates due to the serious aggression. But, on the other hand they are amazingly beautiful fish.

There going in the 200g tank mates include 4 inch JD (witch there all ready fighting but there starting to have respect for each other)) 2 Oscars and possible my Tex. :hyper:

Thats a bunch of BIG fish in a 200 gallon tank. 200 gallons is alot of water, but for three 12" (when full grown) red devils which need 75 gallons at minimum for each, two 12-14" (when fully grown) oscars which need 75 gallons at minimum for each, and then one texas cichlid 12" (when fully grown) which needs 75 gallons at minimum is well overstocked. You would need a minimum of 375 gallons to house these fish IMHO. If you do keep these you will need at least 13x turnover. I still think your in for disaster.

To even consider stocking like that you need a back up plan. A pair of 55's, with two dividers, and a divider for the 200 gallon is a start. Don't forget all the related gear for those 55's.

What do you mean dividers like in tank divider I have a 100g a 10g and a 30g I think that should be ok right?

You'll need dividers for separating the fish if (when) you have to deal with aggression issues. The 55's were an example, most bang for your buck after a 10 gallon.

Any time you are dealing with more than one NW cichlid with aggressive tendencies in the same tank you need a way of separating them, dividers are a cheap quick way. The 30 would be good for one of them, especially if it is a bit torn up. Get a divider for both the 100 and the 200, you should be in decent shape.

I usually set up allot of little apartments so every one has there own little area and it usually works out Don't you think that will work?? and where would I get the dividers??

You get the dividers from your lfs, but they need to be really strong as these fish you have are big and robust. I have seen people use egg crate before and it works great. I would worry about your oscars though, as compared to a red devil they are weak, and as nature goes the weakest will be picked on. I would have all tanks put up and on hand for when aggression does come out.

My red devil really didn't show much aggression until he reached 5", then all hell broke loose and I lost 3 fish in one day because of him. But I do wish you best of luck with your guys, and hope you don't have aggression issues like I did and have to rehome them. I, to this day, miss my old red devil.

Also just to say that many RD's/Midas go through colour changes, especially when young. So they might be yellow now, but once they start to mature they may change colour/pattern.

i picked my mate a red devil up once and it was yellow now it is like an orangy red colour they all have different colours when they are young, also to me this sounds like an impulse buy of red devils you would of bin better off just buying the one will save a lot of money and stress and ypu will be able to enjoy your fish rather than caring for injured ones IMO
