New Weekly "off Topic" Topic (19/03/12)

I don't perceive that my city, Portsmouth, is particularly worse now than it was 20-odd years ago. Back when I was still at school, a friend was mistaken for someone else and was in a coma for a few days - like I said that was 20-odd years ago. The same kind of stuff happens still.

From a professional point of view, people still think there's nothing you can do to stop a burglar getting in if they really want to - well, kinda right, but for the majority of city dwellers, there aren't any burglars that particularly want your house, any house will do, so if yours is easiest it's yours they'll go for - but add decent locks and an alarm, and they'll go next door instead.

The crime rates in the whole country are kind of low, so I'm not really afraid. Rapes, break ins and murders happen, too, but not too often.

I've been fine all my life so far. Someone stole my bike half a year a go when I moved to this city, but that's little.
