I personally agree with "New to the hobby". I always got the impression that that thread was for people that were new to the hobby and had general fish keeping questions , not necessarily just for tank set up. When I first started I saw the "New to the hobby" thread and new instantly where to go. Also, I found it a little less threatening to post what might seem to be stupid or silly question there rather in one of the other threads because as the name implied I was/am new to the hobby. Now having been on this forum for a while, I realize that is not the case, but for new comers I feel it makes them more comfortable to be able to go to new to hobby, just my opinion. Also "your new tank set up" implies that it is only for setting up or re-setting up tanks, rather than the great learning resource it is for people new to fish.

I don't think it's a big deal what it's called, it's just a sub-forum name and really just preference.

I may be one of the few that actually likes the new name. This past summer I bought my second tank, but had my first tank cycled with feeder fish, and had thus been fish-keeping for a year and a half. So I wasn't new to the hobby, but I posted in that forum for fishless cycling advice, because it was a new method to me. It shouldn't be assumed that because it is someone's first time using a fishless or any cycling method that they are new to fish-keeping altogether.

I think we should pick some of the best suggestion, including the new and old name and then put it in a poll, for the forum to vote on, I also like Adams Idea.

If they're new to the hobby they're new, and unless they're 5 I'm sure they can cope with that...I'm sure people have coped for the past ever how long.
srslyyy.
'Getting started' sounds fine too though...Although as 'your first tank' does, it sounds a bit durdur..
