whats the smallest they'll drill?

GET A BIGGER TANK.....YEAH!!!!

If they won't drill it your only option would be a homemade overflow box. Difficult but do-able

Its 100g

Anyone know if Clearseal tanks have tempered bottoms?
I'm thinking of drilling it myself.

Thanks, but they sure don't last very long. What about a long term power outtage...say a couple days I live in the midwest so it's possible w/summer storms and winter storms.

The power companies over here are pretty good... but we did have a small 2 hour outage at about 12 last night.
i don't know but you could try to find a customer service # for the maker and call and ask them.
I'll give that a try :)

The companies are pretty good where I am, as I'm in the largest city in SD. One thing they can't control are storms...be it winter or summer. We haven't had any outages for awhile, but I'm thinking that as soon as I get my tank running something will happen  Especially since it hasn't happened for awhile...kinda like we are due for it.

Omaha, Nebraska is about 2 and half hours south of us and a few weeks ago they had a small tornado go through part of the town. That kinda crap is what makes me nervous. Not to mention a tornado just about took out my sis in laws house a half hour north of us. Her hubby talked to the fire house crew after the storm and they said they watched it retreat into the clouds just short of it directly hitting their farm. Scary, Scary stuff....

Oh and I have tons of family members in Omaha which made it even scarier than the tornado just hitting a random town.

Yea.. as I have only lived in Australia and England I have never had really bad storms but one time visiting my grandparents in Virginia there was heavy flooding and it was really scary.

Here's the reply I got from Clearseal regarding all of the above

Thank you for your enquiry

All of our tanks are made from standard float glass that is not toughened or tempered in any way, unless requested by the customer.

Please be aware that if you drill a hole in the tank yourself, it will void any guarantee. Also it may be difficult to drill the hole in a tank that is assembled, and has a very high possibility of breaking.

We can supply tanks with holes in, but they are drilled before assembly.

You may be better advised to order a tank from the shop, with the holes drilled to your requirements. It will cost a little more, but may save you money if a tank breaks when drilling it yourself.

The hole sizes we have available are:
6mm, 12mm, 16mm, 22mm, 28mm, 36mm, 38mm, 42mm, 45mm, 49mm. If you want to order a pre-drilled tank from the shop, please state the hole sizes and positions, preferably on a drawing at the time of ordering.

Best regards

Paul
