New To Mbuna Can You Id My Fish Please?

Added a Demasoni and another Afra (sexy fish!) today ...deffo learning more.

I have 20 Mbuna now...gonna add another 15 over time.

Hope the tank works out well. oh, and I would change the background, but that is just my opinion.

Yeh don't worry I was planning to..its just left over from the old set up...never really liked it anyway :p

Probably get a straight blue one at some point...I dont like black ones I think they make the fish look nice but the tank horrible.

Good luck with the Mbuna. Africans are a joy, aren't they. I can't wait until I have my multies.

how about a back to nature background some of those look pretty cool.

Whats one of them? a 3d one?

I like 3d backgrounds but they take a fair bit of water capacity.

Just noticed that it is infact a Pseudotropheus Elognatus Mpanga...not a Afra

Not fussed about scuffling...thats part and parcel of Mbuna keeping :p

Ask Dtoffset but from what i know Demasoni are highly aggressive to their own kind and anything that looks like them (your Mpanga), so aggressive that it won't stop untill the other one is dead. You have a very big tank and plenty of other fishies so you might be alright, just something to monitor thats all.

I think the tank is large enough there shouldn't be too much of a problem with the P.demasoni & P.elongatus. I'd be more worried about the M.auratus, IMO they shouldn't be sold in the hobby as they are so aggressive.

Alot of people say that but a couple of mates who breed them say they are fine as long as they are in groups :S

I got a few free today and they are arguing amongst themselves a bit....i'll monitor them for a while (and the demasoni because i like my Mpanga alot more...its gourgeous)
