Hi to all:
I'm new here and I have a /. I know that someone somewhere knows what this is or at least I hope.
Some time ago I found a very small type of bug,I guess that is what it is or I'm calling it that. Anyway it is black in color or it look black and from what I can see with a magnifing glass it has 4 legs and I believe antenna. They are about 1/16 th or less in length or smaller. Today I cleaned our tank completely and wipped around the top os the frame, new water new gravel cleaned all the things in the tank.
Whatever these things are they do not like to be in the water, for they get on the glass and stay there. I thought I had the problem solved . Oh,I also installed a new filter system and lighting system.
After we had put everthing back together ,guees what thats right there were those blankity bugs but not as many.
I have called different pet palces, Dr's Fosters and Smith and they don't even know .So I'm hoping someone on here has had the same problem and can tell me what I'm up against,Please.
Any help will be apprecieated.
Be easy I'm new here>
Thanks :

Could be small dragonfly or damselfly larvae. Some people get them in on plants.

If you have fish, I'd just remove them (or squish them against the glass, your fish will probably eat them). They're generally harmless, but dragonfly larvae particularly might eat small fish or fry eventually, depending on the species they can stay in this form for months or years. Whatever they are, try to get them out.

If you don't have fish, I'd kill them anyway, but definitely do a fishless cycle (See the threads in the New to the Hobby section), and they'll probably die in the process.

If you don't have any invertebrates like shrimp or snails, you could possibly try a medication like Coppersafe, usually used for parasites. Copper is usually very toxic to invertebrates.
