New Tank

mine was turning yellow and i took it out of the sand to snap some of the leavef off, and it was all rotton. :crazy:

Just a heads up, might be non-aquatic?

I suppose it's possible, but they are starting to pick-up a little now what ever they are. Got another pair of discus today, and this time I know the type. Royal Reds. Will post pics of them and the rest of the tank at the end of the week, after a good proon. I have had "A" level exams these last few weeks, so other than the dayly waterchange and check-ups, little has been done to the tank since christmas eve.

ATM I am considering changing the Cabomba Carolina at the back for some Vailis Spiralis, as it isn't giving me the effect I had hoped for. I am after a solid wall of green at the back, that the fish are able to swim through, and teh Cabomba is growing too stragly for that realy.... :sad: The only thing I can think of is lack of light....I have 162 watts over the tank, and the tank is 108us gallons, therefore I have 1.5 WPG. Any other ideas?

All the best

I did a rater brootal trim today, as most of the plants had got a bit out of cantrol. In the last few weeks I have had to treat the tank, and shut off the CO2, due to a lack of oxygen, so that wonderful wall of cabomba is now a straggly mess :sick: The Lidwigia is doing well though...

Anyhow, here's pictures;

I will have to nurse that wall over the next few weeks, so as to get it looking as I want it. The carpet has also suffered without the co2 running. The lidwigia is about the only thing that hasn't suffered over the last few weeks.

All the best to all readers

Yeh plants can get a bit out of control sometimes. In high growth tanks you have to do almost weekly pruning to keep them low and compact.

Stick at it :)
