Hi All

Unfortunatly, my betta The General passed last week. So I have gone out and bought a 5 gallon TopFin tank with filter. And a little guy I have yet to name.

Just a couple of quick questions.

Should I treat the water before putting it in the tank and letting the filter get at it for a couple of days? Or is it ok to add the water to the tank, then the treater and let the filter go?

Thanks :good:

Treat the water as your filling the bucket this way as the water is swishing around its mixing the dechlol.

Quick question is the filter already cycled?

No..The tank is brand new today. I just finished putting it together and wasn't sure what my next step is. The directions are pretty vague.

Read the pinned thread at the top of the new to hobby section on fishless cycling :), good info and should explain everythink.
