New Tank! And Slow Betta

Okay stop , you're being kinda rude. It's TEMPORARY. I've said that many times. I know it's not perfect but at least he isnt dying with fin rot and water not changed for 15 days in a less than 0.5 gallon bowl. I'm trying here! Sorry if not everybody is all grown up and mature and rich like some of you and trust me i wish i could afford a 20 gallon tank for him, he does deserve it. Just please dont judge me for trying to save a poor little fish from dying in a bowl.
I'm giving him clean water and food and i'm getting a bigger tank, it's progress!

Yes dear, i was talking to that other person being kinda rude about my progress. I've noticed that you are all very kind and give amazingly helpful advice. And thank you for your help so far, it's been great!

Precisely. Have you checked places like craigslist? Sometimes you can get a really good deal. If you find a good deal on a tank but no filter, I've found filters for ten dollars at places like Dirt Cheap where they get overflow products and the like. Just a thought.

EDIT: I just checked and you aren't in America, so I don't think the places I've mentioned would apply, but I'm sure there are websites where you can get second hand tanks and stores where you can get a store's excess items at reduced cost.

About the filter, I'm getting an even bigger tank for christmas as a gift from my parents and i'm asking one of my dad's friends to sell me the filter he had in his smaller tank. But otherwise, filters in the pet department arent that expensive really.

+ It's gonna be a complete tank , probably over 10 gallons with live plants , light , filter , heater and lids and everything.

10 gallon tank set up sounds great !  That will be fantastic and fun to set up.

No. .5 is really too small for any fish. Sorry. It could be a holding tank if you need to clean the 2.5 and he attacks everything like mine

They keep them in bowls with tons of marbles and only less than an inch of water in height in my local pet store. Poor little things cant even open up their fins. They have beautiful crowntails but it's impossible to see how beautiful they are when they keep then in those dirty things. Nothing can live in that!

That is why I really have to stay out of pet shops.....I always have to look at the Bettas and end up with the saddest looking one, almost lifeless in his tiny cup! I have a few rescues that I really love and have wonderful personalities....I love seeing them perk up and come alive when I release them into a tank of their own.....
