Hi
So i have a FW tank now that is 35 UK gallons. I am interested in converting it to marine. All i have is the tank (1cm thick glass), the juwel internal filter with a power head, the lighting and hood, stand and a heater.

It has fish in it now but they will be finding new homes soon. my angels and balas are to big for my 10s. I only want a FOWLR.

What else will i need.
1 hydrometer + salt
2 sand (childerns play)(any suggestions?)
3 protien skimmer (need brand names)<--- not to expensive
4 20KG of LR (can i buy this in 10KG and 10KG it is cured)

When talking about the LR, i was gonna add 10KG to start the cycle and add one fish then, add the other 10KG later on then add other fish.(sorry ive even confused myself)

please add to list things i will need.

Not sure about inverts, oh that would make it a FAIOWLR (fish and invert only with live rock)

1. Test kits £30
2. RO water (a must for marine systems), £90 if you make yourself
2. Remove filter media from juwel filter & use to run rowaphos/carbon/filter floss £30
3. Prizm skimmers are pants, deltec mce500/600 would be good, these go for around £100used on ebay
4. Coral sand substrate £40 (childrens playsand is silicon based (unless your in the US!) so provides no real purpose. Coral sand has a high calcium content and will help buffer your calcium & alkalinity levels up and give a more stable ph
5. Enough powerheads to provide 20x flow with some flow coming from underneath if poss(minimum recommend to keep rock alive)
6. T5 lighting basic, halides preferred.

nope fish are fine under any lighting
