New! Random Pics

Hi JollySue

I bet those Galaxies look stunning together.

We have a few different plecs. We have 2 L260's - Queen Arabesques, 2 L134's - Leopard Frogs, 1 BN and 3 L010a - Red Lizard whiptails.

And you?

:D

Is the Leopard Frog the black and white striped one? Have any of yours bred?

I have 2 juvenal LF albino BN. One's parents were LF but he/she didn't get the LF, 2 LF marble BN, and a pair of wild caught starlight BN (the larger one they tell me.) The male's whiskers are about 1/4" now. The marbles I am pretty sure are a pair but his whiskers are still very short. I also have 5 (1 male/4 female) wild caught L 316 Jari zebras: a small black and white stripe omnivorous.

I hope to breed some some day.

The Galaxys are very small. They are more sweet pastoral than stunning to me. But they are very eye pleasing swimming around the plants in their little group. When the fry are gone from their tank, I want to put the long fin pandas in there. I have a whole group of small corys that would go nicely. My only concern is that I now have what is left of my fish farm pandas with that group and I am not inclined to keep them with the long fins indefinately. The long fins look like they might breed in time. But I don't know what else to do with them.

The black and white plec in my sig is my L260 female. The yellow and black one on the right is the L134 - Leopard Frog. Unfortunately the BN in my sig passed away last year. I have a new one, a juvie which is the common brown speckled colour.

I've had no breeding from any of the plecs. The L260's are painfully shy and the male is in the cave and female has tried her best to get it on, but no luck. And both the L134's are male.

Have you posted pics of your LF BN's? Bet they're gorgeous.

:good:

I have. The LF marble is fairly large and quite the looker--especially the male. But until now they were in a tank that just got very bad reflections and he always chose spots that were imposible to take a really good shot. The tank also has beveled edges so more problems getting a good angle. But the marbles are in the B. splendens, C. panalanalensis tank and it is in a better spot for pics since the move. So I hope to catch him in a good mood soon. He now comes out at feeding time, almost forcing me to give him algae wafers, because he will eat the live blackworms and the Cory discs if I don't tempt him with his own. None of my Plecs care a hoot about fresh veggies. They all love Hikari algae discs.

The albino that has the long fins is still very young and shy. I seldom see him with his fins spread--I don't know if I ever see him with his fins spread. I have to search to see him at all. The one that is a throw back and has short fins comes out more and more. It is a little larger.

My Jaris are shy like that too. There are 4 females and I they are mature and the ladies had eggs when I got them. But so far as I know there are no younguns. I took their caves away last week. Maybe when I give them back they will get the idea. Actually I need to deepen the sand and give them a less active tank. I have thrown everything but the fronties in there. (I am prone to exageration. )

That's sad about the gold BN. I had some yellow BN and lost them all during my great columnaris scourge of 2005.
