New Pleco Id

Hi, I just got this beautiful article at my local LFS this morning....



He was sold to me as a Chocolate Zebra plec, but after looking at a few pics of other Chocolate Zebs on here I'm unsure if that's what he is.

Here's anothe pic...



No-matter what, I think it's a real beaut. I'd just like to know for sure what I have.

Wow - he's pretty!

I'm not good at ids with the littler fancy plecs (because there's so many similar) but maybe a leopard frog?

Yep - looks like a Leopard frog to me L134...

How much was he?

Think you're right Lisa, My fish looks just about identical to those.

their pattern varies a lot so the colouration is the main thing... If its yellow and black - its a leopard frog - if its dark cream it and lightish brown then it'll be more likely to be a chocolate zeb

This is looking at its coluration when its happy, not stressed

134's prices have started to rise - I've seen them up for £40 sometimes and £30 at others...

He's out & about in my tank now & seems to be enjoying himself.

I've got 3 of them and they don't come out very often ( did see 2 of them yesterday though ). I've read that a high percentage don't survive long due to them not acclimatising very well to new surroundings. I wish you the best of luck with him/her as they are lovely fish.

I've got a pair... although it looks like the fat female is actually a fat male as it's now living in the cave - that's scuppered my breeding plans

What do you think of this pleco on ebay?. looks a beaut to me. though you might be interested, as you like your plecs.

p.s. sorted my pitbulls out with Pleco Aquatics (They're quite local) 3 juvys. 2 weeks time gonna be very excited.
