New Pleco Id

I've got 3 of them and they don't come out very often ( did see 2 of them yesterday though ). I've read that a high percentage don't survive long due to them not acclimatising very well to new surroundings. I wish you the best of luck with him/her as they are lovely fish.

nice one - where abouts are you?

I've got a pair... although it looks like the fat female is actually a fat male as it's now living in the cave - that's scuppered my breeding plans :D

I'm in Somerset, I've only had them a few months and as I said rarely see them so sexing them is hard to say the least. I've 2 pairs of Bristlenoses ( in different tanks ) and never had any luck breeding those. Is there anything I can do to increase the chances with both breeds of plecs ?

What do you think of this pleco on ebay?. looks a beaut to me. though you might be interested, as you like your plecs.

Link? :p

Silly me.

Only posting it because I've not seen one before (And instead of it being in the tropical fish section, it is in the algae eaters section and therefore won't be as visible keeping the price down)

Lovely plec (we have one called "Scabby")

They normally cost about £10 an inch :) so £20 is a great price - but the reserve is not met :)
If you can collect - It may well be worth bidding... ;)

bit big for my 125l tank, with the pitbulls coming and further plans for the future. lol

Just wondered what you though cos i like the look of it myself.

Sorry I seem to be stalking you at the minute. lol

Beautiful plec, he's also got one on Buy It Now which gives a rough idea of price for it's size. But yep, too big for a 125l. Lovely plec though. I sat up late last night reading all of PlecoAquatics listings, wishing I had another tank

Edited to add - I obviously sat up too late, that's not PlecoAquatics listing LOL! Look them up though because they have them, and they post ;)

Edited again to add - it's not even the same bloomin' fish. That's it, I'm not answering any more threads til I've had some sleep....

I've ordered the 3 Pitbulls from PlecoAquatics (Marcus)

First time I've used them and what a service. He lives local and he said 'tell me which day you want them and I'll drop them round'

Awesome, and I've only heard good things about them so heres hoping.

Can't wait for Saturday the 13th.

p.s. Smith - That fish-r-fun 9v UV sterilizer came this morning. It's in the tank. Nice and small, and quiet. Hopefully it will keep the diseases away, and clear the algae thats been growing since I started planting and UV etc.

They have one of those at our lfs and no-one seems to want him. He's priced at £150 and he's about 12" long. We fell in love with him but unfortunately don't have the room or money. :(

Maidenhead Aquatics in Northampton. I'd never seen one before and wish I hadn't! He was beautiful and I can't believe no-one has snapped him up. The worrying thing is, we are getting our 5ft tank in about 3-4 weeks and then we would have the room! Damn these Plecos, they're taking over!
