going to add a cd & dvd player combo 40 bucks

adding another fan 12 bucks


and thinking of adding a grafics card any idea's
nothing to costly

why are you going to add a cd/ dvd player combo? The dvd burner will play and burn cds and dvds.
Are you going to be playing games, video editing or just surfing the web? If its games then a 512MB graphics card would be fine. Video editing and a 256MB will do. Just surfing the web and use the one on the main board

Sorry to disappoint you but most people I have spoken to about vista think its crap and have gone back to xp. I'm still using xp because vista doesn't have anything extra that I need.

on has 256 ram shared
but thinking on something pci expess 16x

why you getting a motherboard with onboard gfx & a graphics card aswell ?

mgiht as well get a better mobo without the onboard gfx.

maybe a better power supply if you are going for the power hungry newer gfx cards.

price range for gfx?

I built my computer as a home entertainment centre and play cds, dvds and burn both with the same burner. It hasn't shortened the life of the burner yet. The laser beam in the burner is meant to last for just about eternity. The only trouble I have had with burners has been with the brand Liteon. They never last more than 6 months. Get a decent brand Samsung, Toshiba or somehting like that and you will only need one.

And in a couple of years time everyone will be use blueray burners instead.

well the pc i got off ebay and mb came with ATI Radeon X1250-based graphics

price range 100-200 for card if the onboard won't play games
don't won't a huge video card
i'll going to but off ebay so i'll get to why cheaper


think of gettting 2 more 1 gig sticks of ram to -- think it help ??

Too much ram will waste power and not make things much faster. I have 1 gig and it is fine. 2 gig would be heaps for pretty much anything. Make sure you have a reasonable power supply. My PC came with a 300w power supply but I upgraded to a 450w due to the extra harddrives and ram.
