So my best guess is that only moderators (for right now) can change it.

Maybe sometime in the future, members will be allowed to change theirs.

Mine too. Once I became a mod, the moderator tools and the titles were just automatically given to me.

Random question for no reason... how did you become a mod? Were you asked to do it or did you offer etc?

A potential moderator is approached by administrators if a need for another moderator arises, not the other way around. They prefer that members don't ask to be a mod. I was asked by an administrator...I did not ask them...the same applied to Deanasue and Essjay.

We have enough mods for the time being.

They just have “member” under their name.

I think once’s you get over around 10,000 you get that. I’m not 100% though...
