New Music...

It seems hard to find any really good bands coming through nowadays. However, i've just downloaded The xx - xx and ive got to say there absolutely brilliant. Money well spent.

Can anyone point me in the direction of some other good, different, new bands?

The new 'Tired Pony' album is good. Its Gary Lightbody from snow patrol and someother irish musicians.

I like last.fm

It pays attention to what I like listening to and suggests others but in the form of a radio station. So it just plays other songs. You can just listen to the new song, and it'll add it as something you like, you can click love, and it will give that more weight in sorting more suggestions, or you can ban and it will never play it again. And should take the fact you don't like it into account for future suggestions.

It's a bit rubbish for a while but eventually it starts getting better at giving you decent music.

I could suggest loads of music but you might hate all of them since it's all for my taste.

No it's free.

You just sign up for an account, and you can either download their player or use the website. The player is better since it will import song plays from iTunes and your iPod when that syncs up. I believe it also does it with windows media player.

You basically create a radio station just for you. Or you could type in "polka" and it will only play songs tagged polka... If that's your style.

One of the first ones I did was scrubs soundtrack. Which only played songs which have been used in scrubs. Often I just press play on recommended radio.
