Good afternoon,

It is that time to replace my 150w MH bulbs. There are a lot on the market and was wondering what everyone was using.

My aquarium is as follows.

75 gallon mixed (mostly soft and lps)
30 gallon sump

Secondly, I wanted to share with everyone something that occured with my tank. Originally when I started this tank I was using power compacts. With the pw's I had incredible coraline algae growth. Then I switched to my halides and the coraline died off and I have not been able to grow it any more. The PC had blues along with the white bulbs. Could the loss of the blues affected my coraline growth?

Sure can. Wavelength is very important for coraline growth, especially blue. It also is possible to have too much light...

Are you US or UK? Single or Double ended halides?

Im in the US and they are double ended. I'm not a fan of the double ended bulbs, but it is what it is

Hummm, well if it were my tank I'd probably go with Hamilton 14K's :)
