New Malawi/mbuna Tank! Nooob

darn you know so much..... thanks for all the advice... i'm primarily going on the looks of the fish so far...

think im going to have to head back to the lfs with a wacking great big list and hope i get compatible fish.....

are these guys an option? Protomelas Fenestratus

or these Iodotropheus sprengerae

 Thanks, just my obssesive way of learning things, research is a hobby.

I'd skip the P.fenestratus another one that reaches 7". The I.sprengerae would make a nice addition though, one of the more peaceful mbuna species.

Sciaenochromis ahli???

sorry im chucking names at you as quick as i can find the pics of them.......

 S.ahli get much too big (around 10") and would munch on your smaller mbuna.

#41#### its hard rumaging through all the info... quite a bit of it seems conflicting... well in terms of max size and compatability etc and thats if its stated at all.

Stocking a mbuna tank is more an art form than scientific, that's what makes it so difficult.

I'd avoid anything over 6" for your tank. :good:

got some pics of the tank....
