I've been wanting to get a second leo for years but just haven't gotten around to it. So this year for my Birthday my girlfriend light a fire under me and let me pick out a new leo for myself. I have a high yellow leo who I've had for six years named Desi, so I decided to try for something a little different.

He doesn't have a name yet, but we'll be getting around to that soon.

Right now I have him in a ten gallon (My other is in a 20) with paper towels for a substrate. I'm not sure what I should use for him when he gets larger though (Substrate wise). Any suggestions would be well recieved.

God Bless,
Joshua

Congrats and happy birthday
Aww still a little baby, but is that carrot tail I see coming though! :hyper:
Can't wait till I get a descent morph for my b-day.
Sorry can't help you on what to use when he's an adult, i don't really mind looking at paper towels (or as we say kitchen roll lol), and i've never really wanted to take the chance of impaction with them.

I've always worried about impaction as well, which is why I tend to avoid sand or anything of the sort. Thanks for the Birthday wish as well :).

God Bless,
Joshua

Awww hes a cutie! I dont have a clue what Kind of leo I have, but Ive had her for ten years, all I know is that shes what they call a high temperature female and dominates the tank so her male was forced out as she wouldnt let him eat.

As for substrate Ive found mine prefers sand as anything else irritates her skin, really fine sand, I brought mine back from a beach in florida and boiled it but they sell it pretty much anywhere for fish nowadays. She doesnt like kitchen roll much and digs it all up into the middle of the tank.

How old is he? thought of a name yet?

I'm not really sure how old he/she is. I decided on the name Sooraj, which means Sun in a language in Pakistan.

God Bless,
Joshua
