New Fish Keeper Here

Things are going well. Just done a water test before changing it since yesterday.

Ammonia = Trace*
Nitrite = Trace
Nitrate = 25

* The change of colour is so slight, it's neither zero or the lowest level the test will measure

I've changed the water twice on two days and once yesterday. Also added another dose of Safe Start and one dose of Ammonia Safe as it was looking a bit dangerous one day, even after a water change. Still, it seems to be going well enough and very happy with these results pre water change.

The Angels are not feeding very much and some times they are spitting the food back out. I'm using a standard tropical fish flake.

When I had angels they didthe same thing with flakes and frozen food. IMO sometimes they get too much so they need to spit it out and take fewer. I wouldn't advice flakes because :
1) They discolour your water (fish don't see tiny pieces which are left over)
2) It's not meat like worm or daphnia's...just an addition to diet
3) Flakes make a mess in tank which leads to more algeas,especially those hairy ones.

I use mixed frozen food and vegetables frozen for fish,huge difference in water quality and fish like it. Flakes I used costed more then frozen so check weight.
Flake fish food is made from live food which is then dried so you get less fat etc.which is why I preffer frozen as it's live with water.
