Hi All,

How long does it normally take for new lionhead goldfish to get used to a tank and people? Just bought them a few hours ago and the 4 of them are huddling together around the back of the tank behind the aquarium structures. In the shop the 4 of them were in one tank swimming around independantly.

All my other goldfish (in other tanks) were very active swimmers from the start.

Advice appreciated.

Its usually best to turn the lights off in the tank for several hours, to give them a chance to settle. Its quite stressful to be moved from the shop via a plastic bag! They'll take at least 3 or 4 hours to settle, but more likely they won't settle properly for several days or more (but they should come out of hiding) :)
