Where's the lonely keyhole gonna live with? He looks stressed due to the little colouration. Yes you should get him another friend. Keyholes are a very mild mannered cichlid so they should not go in with aggressive cichlids. They do like they're own company(i have 7) and are very shy and skiddish, they need lots of shelter to hide in to make them feel secure. But what a little juvie though, eh? My 7 are almost adults now.

dude.... clean your tank, thats wrong.
every pic you post on here your tank is horrible.
poor fish
:sly: Dude if you have nothing nice to say , say nothing .

The fish are thriving , water is changed at least once a week .

Algae and mulm do not harm fish , may not be condusive for photos , but really dosen't bother the fish , don't like the pics , don't look at them .

And thanks to any one that complimented  .

great pics Lucky and Dwarfs  i hope the keyhole settles in nicely  they're really nice litte fish when in pairs aswell

:lol Mo is awsome

and sam, do you think fish get water changes once a week in the wild and the river is perfectly clean? i think not

DD

Thanks DD, I'm sure he will .

Sam , I sent you another PM .

He's in a quarantine tank right not, the pics were taken about an hour after we got home with him :) We are looking for more, the LFS he came from only had this guy :dunno:

I'm setting up a 30g tank with sand and a filter that is currently in use on another tank (instant cycle!) It'l have peacock gudgeons, badis badis, the keyhole (and more), and some small pleco for any algae problems :)

What is the point of insulting people over the internet, does it make you feel good or something? If you don't like my pics just don't reply.

Here's sunny, going for the pellet, not the bichir :p

I would have got a pic of the Uaru, but the rainbow cichlids got spooked ( :dunno: stupid rainbows  ) and now that the 6 of them hide, so does the Uaru :X

Hope you enjoyed/could stand my pics :)
Once again sunny is Amazing. My sev is starting to color up nicely in his cheeks. Hes an absolute PIG. i dropped in some shrimp Pellets and he Ate one whole. ........ and then spit it out 5 mins later

 they know thier fish. You can tell they are looked after just by looking at thier pics. Algae just makes a fish feel more at home, cleaning it off the glass is purely for the viewers pleasure.

Thanks guys :D I can't clean algae because it scares the living cr*p out of most of my fish (Having the scrubber or magnet in the tank). I've been looking for a bristlenose pleco for a while though, they seem pretty rare on Long island :/

Fishy411:My sev sucks them in and spits them out repeatedly, just to get them nice and soft, that way they go down better :)

He may be doing that. It looks more like he is trying to swallow it but when it gets toward his throat its too big. He is a greedy eater

Nice pics .... You should definately get another buddy for him....I've found Keyholes are much more assure of themselves and active when kept in pairs or more.

 weak dude....weak

the future tank set up sounds awsome Dwarfs! maybe a festuivum or two to add? that would be awsome!
DD

I agree with the festivum. I have a nice male and it is really peaceful. one would look nice with some keyholes.

I've never kept one of those in all these years [ festivum] , this is the first keyhole as well , they should good with plants , right ?

Little Mo is back in his home tank again , and looks good , for a fat ugly gudgeon  , I think the poor guy had a crush on the Jewel :/ , and the Jewel pretty much treated Mo as he did any mate I put with him [ womanizer ] :( , just glad we[ Dwarfs] caught it in time .

Thanks anyone who stepped up , the advice  , and for the compliments .

Who'd of thought a bunch of crappy pictures would gt such hang time :D
