Hey guys I have't been on in ages but I require a dip in your vast pool of knowledge once again. I just got a new filter interpet pf3 and I already have a fluval 3 in there but I want to add the interpet in with the fluval rather than replace, is it ok to just fire on and throw it in there or will that set of some kind of mini-cycle?

Cheers guys!
Dan

It will set a very little mini cycle from experience

Adding another filter doesn't cause a cycle because your existing filter continues as it has all along. The new filter will 'cycle' (perhaps 'season' is a better word) in the sense that some bacteria may begin to populate there.

^^ and if you want to replace a filter with a new one, bang all the old filter media into the new filter and then switch it a little at a time over a few months.
