New Filter / Heater

Hi there,

I'm looking to buy a new filter and a new heater for my 28L fresh water set up.
Can anyone recommend any brands or models??

There are probably plenty of people here with more experience with small tanks and therefor more fine-tuned interest in the different models, but... The more obvious choices that spring to mind for me are the little Aquaclear 20 (used to be called the "mini") (it's an HOB filter with open media space so you don't necessarily have to use proprietary cartridges or anything.) Or one of the smallest of the Fluval internals, Fluval internals are well-liked by many members.

I have one on a 35 litre, it works great, it's completely silent, easy to set up and it is discreet, it has a large media compartment and you can fill it with anything you wish, or you can use the default media.

You could have a look at the fluval u series filters(mini or u1) and for heater a 25watt heater would be fine for your size aquarium, have a look at fluvals E or M series heaters these have served me well.
