New bettas home, your opinions

Your CT's look likethey are almost perfect.
a 25 watt would only be needed..

Hope you get some nice throws for your spawns

Those are beautiful fish. I have semi-see-through dividers in all of my betta tanks, and my betta's still flare at each other from time to time. Although they flare more at their own reflection.

I don't know about trusting that mini-heater from wally world though. It doesn't have a temp control. My sis had one and it stopped working about a week after she got it. I would get the 25 watt heater, then just keep a very VERY close eye on the temp.

I would agree with wuv, itty, and BKK about the pic. (Why then did 55 already post it for nomination?)

HTH & Good Luck,

But, at Wal-Mart they sell $6 junior heaters for 2-5 gallon tanks

IMO I don't recommend this type of heater, Sure they are cheap and Made for a 2-5 gallon tank, but IME i bought one for my 2.5 gallon and I absolutely hated it! It does not allow you to adjust the temperature and has no idicator light to suggest if it is working or not. One day the temp would be 80+ and the next it would be below 60 degrees.

I would suggest a 50 watt. This is what I have now and it is just fine.

This isn't meant to sound mean I just have a strong disliking of those junior heaters  :D

:dunno: My junior heater worked out great. Constant 78 degree water.

I would suggest a 50 watt. This is what I have now and it is just fine.
Don't you think that is a bit overkill? Isn't it usually 5 watts per gallon?

I'd say 25 watt maximum for a 2.5 gallon, and that's still on the high end.
