I got my new betta yesterday! He's really pretty and is currently in a 5 gallon tank. The only problem I have with him is that when I bouht him the other day, he had a problem with his fin. It's sort of curled up. Here's a pic:

It doesn't seem to bother him. But I'd like to know anyways and if I can heal him! Thanks! :D

i'm only saying what i THINK...so don't take this as a for sure....but i'm pretty sure that i've heard someone mention before that if a betta has curled up fins, that it's being kept in too small of an area....there may be other reasons, but i'm pretty sure i remember someone here saying that a while ago.

HTH :)

Yeah well, then again he was in a cup for a little while and I did just get him a few days ago! Other than that..the fin has pretty much stayed the same so I don't know if that's the case. Hrrrrmm..mysteriousness..

one of my betta's fins are curled at the very tip top, and the very bottom....i had him in one of those dual beta hex tank things (pretty small) for 6 months. just last week i moved him to a larger area....about 2gal....but his fins are still the same...but i'm still looking forward for them to change if that is the problem.

hello,
if your betta is in a 5 gal tank, i honestly don't think the curling of his fins could be linked to his current environment. just keep a watch on his fins and give it some time...he probably just needed some room to stretch out.

well i have heard bad water quality or too small of a space but i dont think either of them are true. i have a ct that i have ahd for a long time and he has always had curled fins.
i dont think its anything you should worry about.
