Hi guys got my new betta today can anyone recommend how much i should be feeding him ? He seems fairly happy hiding a little is this normal.

Sorry forgot to add i have betta flakes for him.

if I may ask. what size tank is he in? hiding is normal for the first day or two, but In My Experience only one of my bettas wasn't out and about for the first day. they were mostly exploring there new home.
I feed mine around 4 betta pellets everyday, so it depends on the type of food your feeding it. with flakes then a small pinch should be good, as remember that there stomach is only the size of there eye so they get bloated if they are fed anything more than that

Hes in a 10 gallon with 10 corys, hes definetly exploring loving the plant ive put in the tank etc

Wheres the pics Laura! :D

Just remember that there stomach is only the size of there eye, so not too much food, no matter how much he begs, and trust me he will

Yeah pics or it doesnt exist!

I will add some later of him, im a little worried about him today he seems to be sitting at the bottom of the tank alot just resting on the gravel hell have a swim now and then but them will go back.

Havent seen him poop at all hes hiding in his cave now wont even come out he seems to have lost some colour to.

The filter is slow to medium.

ive also lost 3 corys to but have had my water tested at local fish shop and its fine, i just put some food in for him and he came to the surface but didnt eat and returned back to his cave.

He seems to have now eaten which is good he just really looks like hes loosing his colour.

Your new betta should accept almost any typical tropical fish food. His diet will tend to be a bit heavier in things like brine shrimp or daphnia than some other fish but he should do fine on a basic tropical diet. Also you can spend beaucoup bucks on special foods marked for bettas but it is really not needed for him to thrive.
