new betta in 10G tank..

everythign was going great today i added my 2 bettas into their 10G tank (with a divider), complete with filter and heater and stuff. it was good until after dinner i went out to the beach with my mom and sister to pick out some rocks. I took them home and put htem beside hte fishtank, thinking i'm going to wash them and boil them and clean them before putting them in for decoration...

i go to teh bathroom, come back out and i see the rocks piled into my fishtank and then i see my 2.5 year old sister having tons of fun throwing UNCLEANED rocks into my fishtank with two NEW bettas. i almost killed her right there.

i took the rock sout immeditely, but it was porbably too late as all the sand and wahtever crap might have been on the rock is now in my fishtank i hope the bettas will do okay.

and i got another question, one of the bettas seem to be continously flaring at the back of the aquarim (where hte bakcground is), i think this might be becuase to him he only sees a reflection rather than the actual background, and this is casuing him to flare. My other betta just swims back and forth in the same area over and over again....

mine do that too sometimes in the corner of the tank

its jus their reflection probably.. unless u got some colorfull background thats ticking him off lol

lol most likely teh relfection as the background isn't really that annoying i dotn't hink....does it stress the betta out too much if it constantly sees another betta in the reflection? i dont' want it to get desensitized to the point where i won't be ablet o get it to flare anymore

Were the rocks you found in the water or on the sand??

I would do a water change just to be on the safe side.
