by random chance i was looking at a buld i was thinking of replacing and all of a sudden i saw this tiny little splashing in the top right corner of my tank so i looked closer to find it was a tiny tiny baby panda fish (not sure exact name sorry). i immediately have taken it out and put it into a large tuppaware pot with water from the tank and some sand/stones and wood to hide.

now what im wondering is what can i do to keep this tiny little guy safe and ensure he stays alive and grows up well? things like how do i feed him? i have crushed a flake and a pellet to very small sizes but hard to see if it actually eats the food. i was thinking of getting a bag and putting the little thing in that and then making very tiny holes and putting that into the tank so its in the same water as the other fish but worry other fish may make it scared too much.

any information about these guys is appreciated.

thanks

can't give you any advice except that pandas eat bamboo.
do you have a picture of the fish?
Any ideas what fish are in the tank besides the baby?

found the fish, http://www.fishforums.net/content/Catfish/...anda-Corydoras/

panda corydoras apparently.

other then the 2 pandas i have in the big tank i also have 2 catfish synodontis, 1 angel fish, 7ish guppies, 2 harlequin (sp?) and 2 green fish same size as the harlequin, oh and 4 neon tertas.

i have lost fish before to the angel so thats why the baby panda has to come out to safety plus the pandas are my favorite fish and i would love to be able to keep this one safe and have it grow to be a healthy adult

get a breeding net from the LFS and hang that in the tank. Then you can keep the baby catfish in that.
Alternatively keep it in a plastic container and change the water with tank water each day.
Feed it on newly hatched brineshrimp and microworms, available from the petshop. You can also feed it crumbled up flqake and pellet food but keep the water clean.
