New 6x2x2 australian native tank.

hey everyone i have been setting this up for ages just taking my time to get everything right. (although had to move it once.) some of the pics are for the DIY thread that i will write in that section. im no the best at taking pics so some might be a bit poor. there is also a lot of tannin in the water because of all the roots in there but i will fix that in a bit when i hook it up to the toilet and have an automatic filler so that it will have about 20l water change a day, but thats later. ok here we go.

the lights are that high because the plants will grow out of the water for the archer fish to shoot bugs off hopfully like this

this is how i made the stand, basically the same as the 4x2x2 stand see sig but with the filter section supported by 4x2s, i will post a thread on how i made my filter in the DIY there is also a fluidised be filter to go in.

if you get a tank with an over flow u should build a durso standpipe, worth there weight in gold go to here to see how to make i made mine in about 10mins. and no noise. soooo good who ever invented it is a genious.

ps if u want to be realy neat as well as painting the back of the tank black, silicon black perpex to the front and side of the over flow box.

got the guy who mad it to use the smallest strip possible in the center so there is more room for the plants to grow out.

yeah beer kegs make a super easy strong way to make a stand see how i made my 4x2x2 stand to know what i mean.

the next photos are for making a sump filter, you will need some of these (not realy if you want to it cheap but i had some left over from another tank).

you could use these ( any plastic thing, i got these from reverse rubish, a shop that sells junk basically, for 5$)
