New 4 Foot Reef.

Tough break.

one of the bulkheads on the tank started to leak so I gave it a little tighten and CRACK! corners gone sraight through the hole!
That is why every single one of my bulkheads is siliconed into place. The rubber will degrade over the years and lose a seal at some point anyway. With the silicone you don't need to overly tighten the bulkheads.

Matt if you want i can also get wet water sticky stuff, its a silicone that can be used underwater, quite expensive but i get it trade ;).

Right got the tank at half full and some Aquaseal to 'patch' it up tonight see how I go! if not its going to be £56 built and drilled.

My new tank location journey in pictures.

Got myself some acrylic to patch up the corner for the mean time. The tank can run on one overflow. I am getting the new tank today or tomorrow and will have to drillin and get it in this weekend.

Wow

And after all that hard work :/

I hope you get the new one up and running soon enough

What size is the new tank going to be? Any bigger?

Damn that really sucks. Its the sort of thing that happens to me all the time. Get to nearly the end of the job and something snaps, breaks or doesn't fit :( .

You'll have to get some close ups of the B/W clowns :D

Ah well least you can say you solved it for the time being. Im glad you painted the wall balck with that window behind lol.
As i said before if you want im more then happy to help if need some.

Thanks Add !

Found a tank that I can have today £105(undrilled) or wait a week to get it @ £85 (undrilled)or wait a month @ £76 drilled (undrilled)

Well tbh its how desperate you need it really... i mean u cld loose a lot more if u didnt get it in a month but still justcall me if u need anything id enjoy helping out. Just need some petrol in my car lol.

Wow, thats crazy. There's a lesson in here for all of us...

Redundancy at its finest Matt, good work :good:

Going to be cheeky what size/grade wood did you use to make the stand - and what's the top made of?

I'm no good at most DIY but assembling something simple like that looks within my capabilities (I really want to persuade the wife to let me have 5 x 2 x 4 tank - should be able to keep a nice plec in that ;) )

Oh and I forgot to mention...

I should have never given you the keys to the patent office

Thank you for all the kind works and support,

AK77> B/W Clowns are WC true pair 120 out of pocket on those. Been in the tank 4 days and already showing signs of spawning. Pics to come ;)

N1z> Again thanks for the offer it's nice to know theres someone there :good:

Ski> Yeh, sorry about that while I was designing the new tank I opened my sketch up folder and low and behold these on done ready for me! As for redundancy I like to think I planed it that way! but had to throttle back the return because one overflow couldn't handle the 4500lph of the return

Arimus> the stand is a POP! If you have sketch up I've got the drawings or I have them in jgp I could e-mail or fax. all with dimensions. Could do you an step by step guide to follow if you want? the wood is treated pine 2x4 (thought it's not actually 2" by 4" funny that) with the top out of MDF with loads of stain for outside fence to keep the water out. and the cladding in ply 6mm. got to finish it yet make the front and the new doors and the new hood but for not I have reused the old doors and hood.

Right pics I guess
