Just got in from work and switched the tank lights on and noticed my Ellioti has what seems to be hole in the head :(

He's only 3 inches long and the holes about 2mm bang in the middle of his head. He doesnt seem to look to happy, he's quite lethargic and hiding from the other fish.

My 2 main concerns are - Is the fish suffering (is euthanasing a possibility)
- Is it contagious. Last this I want is an outbreak of disease in my tank.

He's gone :(

Looked in bad shape, went for a bath, by the time i got back he was dead and half eaten :( think they others could see how weak he was :(

So sorry to hear your fish didn't make it. If it was me, I'd do a big water change. How are the other fish doing?

Wow, that was quick!! Did he not have any symptoms yesterday?

Awww, such a lovely fish to lose, too.

:-(

he seemed fine yesterday,

he seemed fine yesterday, well until 8pm last night.

i think my green sev may have sped things up though... My ellioti although 2 inches smaller than the sev was the boss of the tank, seeing he was a bit weak i imagine the sev took advantage :(

I guess these things happen.

Sorry for your loss, maybe check your water and keep up on your changes :( :rip:

Please check your water as it sound like hole in the head (HITH)where poor water conditions can be a factor in most cases of HITH.
