i started asking if its better to go dark at night and peple said yes so i did iy,what a mess,i usually left the blue light on and yesterday evening i went complete dark, this morning my anemone had moved himself cause of the light so i decided not to do it again came back after work he tried to move back to his old spot and got caught up into the power filter,i tried to remove him slowly but it doest look good whats the chance for survival? there was a foul smelling juice wich i got over myself, rinsed my whole arm with antiseptic lotion just incase, he was just starting to get all hes strengt back even changed colour from bleached to litte brown, like they should be, im pissed..

its been setup for 3 weeks now,

i have 3x 20 watt lights blue yellow and white, run all 3 during day and blue at night, except yesterday.

its a sebae anemone, wich was very bleached when i bought him 2 weeks ago, he was eating alot and colour starting to change as well..

This has completly nothing to do with turning the lights off!!!

and Im really sorry about the news , but if you didnt have covers over your power heads I'm afraid you cannot blame anyone but yourself!!

I'm really sorry if this is harsh but its like you feel its our fault on this forum for telling you to turn lights off, This isnt true and I still say turn them off.

I have heard so many people talk about anemone's and the advice that always follows is "make sure your powerheads and filter inlets are covered"

even your LFS would have most likely said it when he sold it to you?

My advice is give karen rose an email she is an anemone expert she has saved lots of themm after this incident

look here for help and her email address

DANGER!!

Contact details

Again sorry for the news.

im not trying to blame it on someone else just want to know if it will survive becasue it started to get so beutifull after spending many hours feeding it,

my power head has a cover over it wich it came with with small holes but still the tentacles manage to get stuck in and around it,

ill see if it opens itself by tommorow morning,

just think he didnt like the dark, first time it moved from hes spot,

sorry if i made it look liked it someone elses fault just said that its only since i done that, that i had a prob,

thanks for help..

Whats really happening with your tanks?

List them please

How many tanks you got?

How old are the tanks (running as salt water/Marine)

What stock/Fish have you got?

Are you using RO water?

How much LR have you got?

Ive looked at all your posts and NO dates or pictures or tanks add up or match what you are telling people??

How can we help you if you arent honest in the first place?

Just set it straight?

i have doubts for its survival, and i agree, light has NOTHING to do with it. There is darkness in the wild so there should be darkness in the tank. Acording to karen you shouldnt have removed it anyway, you should have let itself move it.

it seems to be ok this morning, he moved back to hes old spot and is opening again...

i cant think why i would not be honest about fishkeeping dont really see why i will need to do it, if i make a mistake or do something stupid i need to know, thats the only way to learn.
