Neons not schooling

Neons are never tight schooler IME they will at times put on a show but for the most part they are very loose schoolers or even non schoolers. If you want tight schoolers my favorites are harlequin rasboras. Always stay together and look best in schools of 10 or more. the Show is always on with these guys. :)

Yup. Couldn't agree more. Nothing schools like harlequins...

:hyper: I happen to find the another way to make the neon school.
I just this pretty powerful power head yesterday and I see them schooling yesterday. Although I did some redecorating also, by adding more plants and moving some driftwood here there. But as I see it, by adding stronger current, they were schooling. And I know I don't have any threatning big fish with them. I got silver hatchet and some Melanitius corys and lemon tetras with group of Neons and glow-lights. Nothing in the tank really scaring the Neon. I'll wait and see if it is really the stronger current make them school. And not all the redecorating enforce their behavior. I guess time will tell. :shifty:

They are also from fairly low energy regime conditions, if you have suddenly introduced a strong current, that will upset them as well.
