Need Some Reassurance

Also another thing about this tank is that it is open topped with an over tank luminaire. Surely I need a lid of some kind to keep fish from jumping out.
Help would be appreciated.

not all fish jump :good: but if you have a condensation lid you wont have to top up as much :good:

Disagree, All fish jump. I would suggest a top, even something like eggcrate to keep them in. Eggcrate cane be bought at most hardware stores and cut to fit exactly how you need it.

I was thinking eggcrate, but maybe the fish would get stuck in the holes I the jumped? Also how much light would it absorb?

Yea Harry I was thinking around 200 litres and then this pops up at 240L Inc sump. Evaporation isn't really a prob because I will make a auto top off using bits from maplins and a guide on ultimate reef.

I used to have eggcrate on my 29G. Sixline jumped a couple times and hit it, had no problem. He learned not to jump again. Only problem is that small fish can still sometimes get through it. I had a sleeper goby manage to fit through the holes. Didn't have a problem with light reflection.

I prefer glass "canopy" tops over any other tops, personally.

Sounds good, will do that then. Where would I be able to buy, say 39"x18" ?
