Here's some pics of the little man. Trying to come up with a name for him, What do ya'll think? He's very territorial of his little domain and flares at anything he don't like the look of..but he comes up to the surface when i talk to him and even tho he's only been there for a few days he's settled in and lets me stroke his back. He even attempted a bubble nest earlier...think he got bored and stopped lol.

and another :) sorry they're not the best quality..i used my phone

He's so pretty! Sounds like a lover with a sting! How 'bout:

Cupid (he has a mess of arrows, and the colour associated with him most often is Red!)
Fonzie (a lover, that all the girls and none of the guys wanna mess with!)
James Dean (A hottie whom all the women loved!)
or
Bogie (going off the colour thing--- "This could be the start of a beautiful friendship" And "We'll always have Paris." :hey:
Whatever it is... make sure you let us know, and have fun with the new guy in town! :D

Myrrh
:fish:

thanks everyone..there's alot of good suggestions :) i've written them down and gonna watch him for another day or two to see which one fits him :hyper:  he's such a little character!

Great idea to take your time! It took me almost 3 weeks to name my first Betta, a beautiful turquoise fella. He was playful, sociable, and made me love him even though I hadn't wanted ANY pet to begin with! He was a gift.

Anyway, after I learned that the bubble-nest was not some weird fungus :look:, I bought him a girlfriend that he tore to shreds when I wasn't looking, and then I learned that was normal, so I got him a new girlfriend, and said to the fish-store guy, "Well, I suppose I'll take her home to the Marquis." That's when I decided to name him Markie, for Marquis de Sade! And because I put the girl in an oil-lamp chimney this time, I realised she was like a Genie waiting for Master to be ready for her to come out. And so, she was named Genie!

The other female is still nameless  but I'm not too worried about it; I'm sure the right name will make itself obvious in time!

I think sometimes we try soooo hard to come up with a name that goes with colour, or activity, and then personality and circumstance step in! :)

Please don't forget to let us know what you decide! I keep checking this thread; the whole process of how and why we name our pets is fascinating!

Um...yea, males and females shouldn't be kept together unless you are breeding them...

Don't keep buying females and dumping them in when the old one gets hurt...

What the heck is an oil almp chimmney? That doesn't sound like a proper tank for a betta...
