Mystery Disease

I haven't posted for several months but have returned to the forums to ask for some more advice on this matter. The cardinal that the post refers to is still alive and has been in my quarantine tank (inhabited by 2 amano shrimp only) for over 3 months. The black patch on his tail remains but appears slightly paler than before.

Would the parasites that he has been diagnosed with have lived out their life cycle by now and died due to there not being any other characins in this tank? The cardinal has not deteriorated since being moved into this tank and is eating fine and doesnt appear to be in any discomfort.

I would like to put him back in my 39gal tank with the other cardinals who all look very healthy but i don't want to run the risk of introducing any parasites to that tank.
Any advice would be much appreciated,
Cheers

Ok it seems only the moderators are likely to know much about this subject the revisited thread has generated no interest so i'll just follow my instinct and own research.
