i have a 55 gallon tank, recently done cycling. i added 12 mduna last night. everything was fine until i recently noticed that the water turned yellow.

no, just brownish-red shale along with a crushed coral argonite sand substrate.

My water was always brownish due to driftwood. Guy at LFS suggested Seachem Purigen (little baggie in the filter). My water went from weak tea to crystal clear overnight. :good:

should i do a large water change or will this resolve itself?

Carbon should remove the color but whatever is causing it will continue to seep out this coloration so you may have to temporarily use a large filter with carbon and then when it gets bad again do the same thing. Don T. ( My best guess is it's the shale)

the rock has been in the tank for at least 3 weeks before i put fish in. ill get some carbon, all the water parameters are fine. should i be worried or not?
